In Lusaka, Zambia, our team worked alongside the Energy Regulation Board (ERB) to support the development of ringfencing guidelines for the power sector.
Ringfencing is a critical pre-requisite for the effective implementation of Zambia’s power sector reform, a process anchored around an Open Access Regulation adopted in 2024. Establishing boundaries between different segments of the electricity value chain increases transparency and accountability in the sector. Importantly, these efforts contribute to leveling the playing field for all market participants.
